Process Groups for Virginia Nurses are open to licensed nurses who reside in Virginia, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), and other licensed nursing professionals. Participants must be physically located in Virginia while attending virtual sessions

A process group is a therapist-led group that provides a confidential space to explore personal and professional experiences through meaningful conversation, reflection, and connection with peers. Rather than following a classroom-style curriculum, members learn from one another while receiving guidance from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Yes. Process Groups for Virginia Nurses are facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and are considered group psychotherapy. The focus is on emotional wellness, personal growth, professional sustainability, and support within a confidential group setting.

Each group is shaped by the experiences of its members. Common topics include workplace stress, compassion fatigue, burnout, difficult patient experiences, work-life balance, leadership challenges, boundaries, career transitions, grief, and the emotional impact of caring for others.

The monthly investment is $249, which includes weekly 90-minute virtual process groups.

New participants also receive a complimentary Nurses Thrive Welcome Kit, which includes:

  • 📓 A hardcover reflection journal
  • 🖊️ A premium writing pen
  • 💙 A laminated Nurses Thrive Pocket Reset Card featuring a brief grounding exercise
  • ✍️ A handwritten welcome note from Sheena

No. Process Groups for Virginia Nurses is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance. This approach offers greater privacy and flexibility while allowing the group to focus on the unique needs of nurses.

Groups are intentionally kept small, typically 6–8 participants, to encourage meaningful conversation, connection, and individual participation.

Groups meet once each week for 90 minutes in a secure virtual setting. Participants may choose from available daytime or evening groups, depending on their schedule and current openings.

Yes. To accommodate a variety of nursing schedules, we currently offer both a daytime group and an evening group.

During your complimentary consultation, we'll discuss your schedule and determine which group is the best fit based on availability. Our goal is to make participation as accessible as possible while maintaining consistency and continuity within each group.

Yes. All groups are held virtually, making it convenient for nurses across Virginia to participate from the privacy of their home or another confidential location.

Confidentiality is one of the foundations of the group experience. All participants agree to respect the privacy of fellow members and maintain confidentiality regarding what is shared during sessions. While every member is expected to uphold this commitment, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed because it depends on the actions of all participants.

Process Groups for Virginia Nurses operates on a monthly commitment rather than a long-term contract.

Your monthly investment covers four consecutive weekly group sessions. At the end of each four-week period, you may choose to continue for another month or conclude your participation—there is no obligation to make a long-term commitment.

If you decide to take a break and would like to return in the future, you're welcome to contact us. Rejoining the group will depend on space availability and whether the group remains a clinically appropriate fit at that time.

This monthly approach provides enough consistency for meaningful group connection while giving you the flexibility to continue as long as the experience is beneficial to you.

The first step is to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation. You will find the action button on the Join a Group Page on this site.  During this conversation, we'll discuss your goals, answer your questions, and determine whether the group is a good fit for your needs. If appropriate, you'll be invited to join the next available group opening.

You'll be welcomed into the group, introduced to other members, and oriented to the group's expectations and confidentiality guidelines. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable sharing. Building trust takes time, and participation develops naturally as relationships grow.
